There Will Be Blood (2007)
Spoilers ahead.
From the director of Punch Drunk Love (2002) (interesting), an Oscar contender and armed with a 8.x imdb rating, I thought There Will Be Blood (2007) would be an amazing film. I was of course disappointed.
Lead actor Daniel Day-Lewis undoubtedly delivered a superb performance but the lack of dialogues without the supplement of inspiring imagery or score makes this film a unnecessarily boring experience. Characters are predictable and there is no twist in the plot. Director Paul Thomas Anderson did manage to paint a disturbed and anguish infested oil tycoon struggling with his inner conflicts but most scenes are redundant and don't add anything to the storyline or the character building. Afterall a nut job this out of whack ain't call for 158 minutes to portrait, he hates people, I get it, cut to the bowling lanes already.
